Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23rd March 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Gridrive, Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the Gridrive website, the Gridrive Excel add-in, and related services (together, the "Services").
Gridrive is an Excel add-in for finance professionals. Some Gridrive features, such as precedent and dependent tracing, work without sending workbook contents to our servers. Other features, including AI-powered analysis and saved model states, may require us to process and store workbook-related data as described below.
Information We Collect
Account and profile information
When you create an account, request support, or otherwise interact with the Services, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, job function, sector or industry, and other information you choose to provide.
Workbook and model data
If you use AI-powered features or features that save model states, we may collect and process workbook-related data needed to provide those features. This can include formulas, values, spreadsheet metadata, model context, and saved snapshots or states that you choose to create or that are necessary for the feature to function.
Technical and usage information
We may automatically collect technical information about how you access and use the Services, such as IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring URLs, timestamps, and product usage information. We also may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to support authentication, security, preferences, and website functionality.
Communications
If you contact us, join a waitlist, request a demo, or otherwise communicate with us, we may keep records of those communications and any information you include in them.
How We Use Your Information
Provide and improve the Services
- Provide, operate, maintain, and secure Gridrive.
- Create and manage user accounts and saved model states.
- Provide AI-powered features, outputs, and model analysis.
- Improve product performance, reliability, and user experience.
Aggregated and de-identified information
We may use aggregated and de-identified information (which cannot reasonably identify you, your company, or your projects) to improve our services, develop new features, and enhance performance and analytics.
We do not sell or share identifiable customer or project data with third parties.
Communication
- Send service-related notices, updates, and administrative messages.
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- Send product news or marketing communications where permitted by law, and allow you to opt out where required.
AI-powered features
Some Gridrive features use third-party AI providers, including Anthropic and Microsoft-hosted AI services such as Azure OpenAI, to analyze workbook-related data and generate outputs. We use these providers only to deliver AI-enabled functionality in Gridrive. Features such as precedent and dependent tracing are designed to work locally in Excel and do not require sending workbook contents to our servers for that functionality.
We do not use your data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning models, whether our own or those of any third-party provider. Any broader use of your data — such as to produce benchmarks or analytics — is only ever performed on aggregated and de-identified data, as described in the Aggregated and de-identified information section above.
How We Share Your Information
Service Providers
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Services, including cloud infrastructure and database providers, authentication and account tools, communications tools, and AI service providers. For example, we may use Supabase and its underlying hosting infrastructure to store account and application data.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the Services.
Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, preserve saved model states you choose to keep, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify your personal information and saved model states promptly, subject to limited retention for backups, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, or similar legitimate business purposes.
Your Rights and Choices
Access, correction, and deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also be able to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the information below.
Marketing communications
You can opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us directly. Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you service-related communications.
Local and feature-specific controls
Because some Gridrive functionality runs locally in Excel, not all workbook activity is sent to us. For AI-powered features and saved model states, you can manage what information you submit and, where available, delete saved data through the product or by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. Where required by law, we will take steps designed to provide appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page and take any other steps required by applicable law.
